CELEBRACIO ‘19
Celebracio’19, the Second College Day Celebration took place in the campus premises on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The management, staff and students worked together to have this extravagant annual celebration. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Lukose Vallatharai, Retd. IAS Officer and the Rector of Mount St Joseph, Rev. Fr. Anthony Joseph SJ Presided over the programme.

Kannada Kavya Rachana Kammata
Kannada Sangha organized a one day workshop, “Kannada Kavya Rachana Kammata” on 4th October 2018 at Loyola Degree College.
60-Students participated from various colleges in Bangalore. The participant colleges are as follows: St. Joseph’s College, Surana College, Al-Ameen College, SFS College & Govt. College.

JURNO-2K18
Loy-Madhyam in collaboration with B.A. organized ‘Jurno-2k18’, an intercollegiate media fest on 29th September, 2018, to provide young students a platform to showcase their journalistic caliber. Rev Fr Francis D'Almeida SJ, the Principal inaugurated the fest and declared it open. The venue for the inaugural ceremony was Loyola ITI hall and the valedictory ceremony was held at the quadrangle of Loyola PU College at 4:00 p.m.
Around 300 students from 10 colleges participated in this intercollegiate media fest, SFS College, Silicon City’, Kristu Jayanthi College (Autonomous), T. John College, Christ University, VET College, Jyothi Nivas, AMC, SSMRV and Loyola Degree College.

Two Day Orientation Programme for the First Year Degree Students
The Orientation Program for the First year degree students was held on the 18th and 19th of June, 2018. Each classroom had teachers conducting sessions on important guidelines that students had to follow in the academic year 2018-2019. A welcome prayer, which had readings from different religious texts helped the students to invoke the presence of God through meditation and reflection. Dr. Vincent, Ms. Priyanka Precila D'Cunha, and Radhika Castelino welcomed the students after the prayer.

IDF Orientation for I -Year Students
Focusing on the development of Student Leadership the ‘Indian Development Foundation’ (IDF) conducted a one-day orientation for the I-year students on Tuesday, 12 June 2018 at Loyola Higher Primary School Auditorium.
Breaking the monotonous and strangeness among the newcomer students, the IDF conducted the Ice-breading session which paved the way for a day-long orientation. The organizers covered the various topics according to the needs of the student leadership. Highlighting the importance of communication in today’s scenario, students were given an input session on the communication skills.

As India adheres towards cleanliness, the National Service Scheme (NSS) association of Loyola Degree College, Bangalore adds a contribution to it as they cleaned up the premises of the Mylansandra Church on Saturday, April 26, 2018. A troop of 32 NSS, under the leadership of NSS Programme Officers Dr. Kumarswamy and Mrs. Thejaswini N, along with the Principal Fr. Francis D’Alemida SJ, gave a clean-up service as a part of NSS programme.

Valedictory Function
A valedictory function was held on May 4, 2018 on Extra Curriculum (EC) and Co-Curricular (CC) activities of the College. The gathering kicked off with the welcoming of the Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Lawrence Anthony SJ, the Principal of ITI. A blissful Prayer Song paved the way for the programme, after which the Annual Reports of the Student Council and the Reports of other associations were presented.
Fr. Anthony conveyed a thought provoking message to the students through a story about two clay pots. “Be something different in the world, adding colour in your lives and in the lives of others. Dream to achieve the goal that is Extra-Ordinary,” he said.

Ambedkar Jayanti
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti was solemnly celebrated on April 20 as it was deferred from April 14th due to the internal tests. The key speaker and the chief guest for the day was Dr. Jewan Kumar a former professor of Delhi University. The college paid homage to Ambedkar by garlanding the portrait by the chief guest.

One day Workshop on Theatrical Skills and Dramatic Techniques
Mr. Charles Godwin K., the president of Dramatics Association, organized a one-day workshop on Theatrical skills and Dramatic techniques on 23 March, 2018. Mrs. Regina from the Army Institute was the resource person for the day. Rev. Fr. Francis D’Almeida SJ, the Principal of the College inaugurated the programme and welcomed the gathering.
Students were divided into various groups for the dramatic activity. The script of Ekalavya was discussed, analysed and acted. The script portrays the caste discrimination and hierarchy in the society.
