The NSS unit of Loyola Degree College hosted annual camp at Kanshi foundation located in
the Kanakapura main road from 7 th May 2022 to 13 th May 2022. The camp was inaugurated on
07 May 2022 by the chief guest Rev.Fr. Francis D’ Almeida SJ along with other dignitaries
namely Rev.Dr. Alphonse Fernandez SJ, principal of Loyola Degree College, Dr.Vincent A,
vice principal, Mr.Roshan Honest Raj, the placement officer, Dr.Kumaraswamy Bejjihalli, dean
of Humanities, Dr.Rajesh, dean of Commerce and members of the staff.
The NSS volunteers were provide opportunity render service to the society. The students were
divided into smaller group for the better execution of work. The volunteers helped out in
cleaning the campus of Kanshi Foundation. The students planted herbal and fruit saplings in and
around the campus. The students rendered their helping hands to the community health centre in
Kaggalipura.
The volunteers were enlightened with fruitful talks on the themes like youth and personality,
youth and Constitution, and personality development. The eminent personalities like Ms.Bhavya
Narasimha Murthy youth leader, Ms.Shahanaz certified counselor of career guidance,
Dr.Vadagere Nagarajayya activist and Mr.Roshan Honest Raj the placement officer of our
college delivered the talks.
The evening in the camp was filled with cultural programs. The students divided into smaller
groups who in turn delivered cultural activities based on the themes like Save our nation,
Mother’s Day, Clean India, Constitution and Health awareness where the volunteers got the
opportunity to explore their talents in group. The various activities like sports, debate and
concentration exercises were conducted for the volunteers. After the supper, evaluation was
done where good outcomes of the day were appreciated by the staff, short comings and the
suggestions to overcome the short comings were discussed.
A special talk was organised by MLA Mr. N. Mahesh the owner of the Kanshi Foundation,
visited the Kanshi Foundation and spoke on different types of personalities that are existing in
the society. The camp days were filled with physical activities, raising awareness on various
issues faced by the society, building confidence, accepting each one’s limitations and creating a
good relationship amongst us.
